First Annual Lake Fork Carp & Buffalo Challenge

Lake Fork is on the Sabine River, five miles northwest of Quitman
Carp Pro Magazine and Wild Carp Companies recently announced that, along with Lake Fork Sportsman’s Association, they will host a $10,000 carp and rough fish catch and release tournament. This is a new Texas 44 event, and the registration and social gathering will be held February 29.
Education, outreach and community programs and a Pro-Am showcase are scheduled for March 1. The tournament will begin March 1 in the afternoon and last until March 3. The registration fee is $450 per team.

Lake Fork is home to Common and Mirror Carp that grow in excess of 35 pounds and Smallmouth Buffalo that top 55 pounds. This 44-hour tournament will prove to be a grueling test of the two-person teams as they strive to capture champion Carp and Smallmouth Buffalo. This is a team-based, 44-hour endurance tournament for Big 4 Carp and Big 4 Smallmouth Buffalo.
