We had a wonderful time and will be writing up posts and posting pictures soon. Here is a picture of our new travel trailer: 21 feet long, one slide, full bath and walk around bed.
We just spent 3 weeks on a shakedown trip and we will be taking it back to the dealer to get some things examined.
The shakedown trip will be a saga . . . with the tale of the slide, the tale of the inside dripping A/C, the tale of the always full black water tank, the tale of the spare tire drop and the tale of the almost self-wreck.
Help Us Name Our New Trailer
Our last trailer was named Beauty (84 Prowler Regal) and she was pulled by the Beast (85 Ford Club Van XL). The truck we have now is named BBT (Big Black Truck), but we do not have a name for the Edge yet.

Forest River started production of r-pod lightweight travel trailers in October 2008.
The walls on the r-pod are 2-inch gel-coated fiberglass.
Only the rear window seals, A/C and TV antenna penetrate the seamless fiberglass barrier.
The r-pods are manufactured with low formaldehyde panels that comply to F-Four Star emissions.
The inside height is 78 inches.
I really like the r-pod 175 with the slide and queen bed. They have just started to manufacture these, so they are selling like the proverbial hotcakes.
Well, I think we found an ultra-lightweight travel trailer that we would love to have. It is called the EDGE and it is made by Heartland RV. These trailers are very nicely laid out, so you really do not miss the space. The M18 weighs 2795 pounds. The M21 Edge weighs 3189 pounds.
We first saw the EDGE M18 on eBay and were really thinking about it. Then we went out to the Heartland website and saw that there was a M21, which is just a perfect size for us. Of course, being new and lightweight, there are not a great many available.
I found one M21 (white) in Mesquite, Texas and one M21 (color) located at a dealer located in Batavia Ohio, close to Cincinnati! I sure would like to find one in Central Texas. I love to travel, but Ohio is not on my bucket list.
