Saving Energy While Cleaning

Dirt Devil has developed a new energy-efficient technology for cleaning that uses 70 percent less energy than other rechargeable vacuums. The AccuCharge technology is available in both a rechargeable stick vacuum and a rechargeable hand vacuum.

The AccuCharge technology is the first cordless cleaning system to earn Energy Star approval. Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. Since 1992, the Energy Star program has helped Americans to save money and to help protect the environment through the use of energy efficient products.

The AccuCharge technology in these vacuums charges them twice as fast as other rechargeables, which means you save energy and time. The small profile of both these vacs is perfect for RVs. Space is at a premium in our trailer, so the hand vacuum is perfect for us.

To tell the truth, we do not spend much time cleaning our trailer. I have a back problem which precludes most heavy cleaning and Michael does not clean at all. I guess you could say we save a lot of energy on cleaning!

Talk about saving energy while cleaning, I will never forget one of the first times I went to Michael’s house. We were just starting to date, so he was still trying to impress me. To that end, he was cleaning his home and was going to cook dinner for me. I showed up a little early and found Michael standing in the living room with a leaf blower and wearing a dust mask. He was blowing trash, animal hair and dirt out the back door. I must say it was the quickest house cleaning I had ever seen! Or would have seen, if I did not have a severe dust mite allergy and had to leave immediately.

Waveceptor Watches for Women

Casio Waveceptor Watches for Women

Now this is hi-tech! These Casio watches have something called waveceptor technology. The watches keep time by interfacing with an atomic clock in Colorado via antenna. The time is automatically set from time calibration radio signals.

I am going to ask for one for Mother’s Day, which is May 11, less than one month away (just in case you were wondering). I had quit wearing watches because the new ones have some much stuff on them that I cannot ever set them. Seriously, the last one I had could serve as a stopwatch and pedometer. I could never set it to the correct time and date, let alone use it as a pedometer or stopwatch, and do not mention moon phases to me!

If you are technologically challenged like me, you may want to take a look at these watches.

Recharge Your RV Gadgets

The online battery store, AllBatts.com, has the tag line, “nothing but batteries.” That pretty much says it all. They have batteries for power tools, digital cameras, camcorders, two-way radios and scanners, DVD and MP3 players, desktop and laptop computers, and cordless phones. They also have adapters and chargers, including 12-volt adapters. This is perfect for us because our travel trailer has 12-volt DC power when we are not hooked to shore power.

I found this website by accident, looking for a Helio cell phone battery for my son. While I did not find his battery, which cna only be found on their website, I did find replacement batteries for my Nokia cell phone and my Hewlett Packard Pavillion Entertainment PC. The real find was a battery charger for our old Sony camcorder that works with DC power as well as AC power.

We are going to put new life into some gadgets we have not used in awhile. You may want to visit AllBatts.com and discover what gadgets you have that may be restored to working condition with a new battery.

CarGuyGarage has lots of storage

storage shedHave you ever visited Car Guy Garage? They have all types of storage for your garage. What I really like are the storage sheds, like the one pictured above. This particular configuration is 12 feet high, perfect for an RV shed. The price is about one-third of what we paid for our RV carport. This would be an ideal solution for outdoor storage of RVs over the winter.

If you have a need for garage storage, from cabinets to pegboards to workbenches to toolboxes, visit CarGuyGarage.com, sponsor of this post, for great products at great prices.
