In-dash navigation systems are great conveniences for serious travelers.  The in-dash navigation system is capable of routing you between two map points in the fastest way, the most scenic way or by the least traveled road. To make sure you always have the most current data, you will need the latest map update.

For drivers of diesel recreational vehicles (RVs), the navigation system will route you on roads that can handle your rig.  This is especially important for owners of diesel pushers, which are usually at least 40 feet long and over 12 feet high.  There is nothing worse than winding up in Manitou, Colorado at the bottom of a 45-degree entrance ramp with a 15-degree turn at the bottom.  This is a true story and would not have happened if to us if we had an in-dash navigation system.

In-dash navigation systems can help drivers locate home addresses, busineses, medical services and restaurants.  You can even modify a route on the fly if you run into traffic.  You should update your navigation software yearly.  A software map update would make a wonderful Christmas present for a loved one. Or give yourself the gift of navigation.

Some of my readers may remember that I wrote a post  last year about Discovery Green Park in Houston and how they were planning on making their opening a splash during the holidays, including an ice rink!   Well, the weather did not cooperate and that Christmas was hot and dry.  Not so this year, so go out and watch the ice skaters and take the kids.  There are lots of activities for children with family.
