Houston, Texas, the Art Car Capital of the World, is scene of the 22nd Annual Houston Art Car Parade.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people witness and participate in a rolling display of art on wheels. The Parade has become a nationwide phenomenon and continues to bring out the artist in everyone.

In 2008, more than 250,000 people joined the party and watched as a 30 foot tall dragon, a mobile disco, a giant opera-singing Viking woman, as well as almost 250 other Art Cars motored along Allen Parkway in downtown Houston.

    Art car parades are sooo fun! We recently had a parade here in the Twin Cities, it was a huge blast!

    My favortie place in the world for art cars, and art alone is Burning Man! Look it up there are some great pieces of work and tons of them shoot flame! Last year there was a huge giant duck, its was the size of roughly two buses!

    Thats amazing. I never new anything like this existed. It looks like fantastic fun and as a car lover I hope to get a chance to visit someday. Wonder how people would react if I arrived to work in the feathered car?
