Please Help Burma الرجاء المساعدة في بورما
On May 2 and 3, 2008, Cyclone Nargis tore through Burma, also known as Myanmar. على 2 و 3 ايار / مايو ، 2008 ، هز اعصار nargis عن طريق بورما ، التي تعرف ايضا باسم ميانمار. More than 22,000 people died, 41,000 are missing, and over one million are homeless. اكثر من 22000 شخص مصرعهم ، 41000 في عداد المفقودين ، واكثر من مليون بلا مأوى.
In the city of Rangoon, a city of over 5 million, the hospitals were leveled and sources of drinking water ruined. في مدينة يانجون ، وهى مدينة من اكثر من 5 ملايين ، والمستشفيات ، واستوي كانت مصادر مياه الشرب خراب. The cyclone-related storm surge devastated the Irrawaddy delta, the area’s main rice growing region. الاعصار عرام العواصف ذات الصلة دمرت ايراوادي الدلتا ، المنطقة الرئيسية لزراعة الارز في المنطقة. Food prices have already doubled. اسعار المواد الغذاءيه قد تضاعف بالفعل.
The political situation in Burma / Myanmar is troublesome to the relief effort. الوضع السياسى فى بورما / ميانمار هى مزعجه لجهود الاغاثه. Workers for the United Nations are still waiting for entry visas. العمال بالنسبة للامم المتحدة لا يزالون ينتظرون تأشيرات الدخول. Volunteer movements are restricted. التطوع حركات مقيده. Oppression and poverty will prevent the people of Burma from recovering from this cyclone, likened to Hurricane Katrina, without aid. والقهر والفقر من شأنه أن يمنع الناس من بورما من تتعافى من هذا الاعصار ، تشبه اعصار كاترينا ، دون معونه.

Thank you for your efforts to raise awareness and money for relief in this isolated country. شكرا لك على الجهود الراميه الى زيادة الوعي والمال لاغاثة معزوله في هذا البلد. I heard on the radio today that the death toll has risen to more than 100,000 with riots in the streets for available food and water. سمعت على الراديو اليوم ان حصيله القتلى قد ارتفع الى اكثر من 100000 مع أعمال الشغب في الشوارع لتوفير الغذاء والماء. John McCain called publicly for the overthrow of the government. جون ماكين دعا علنا الى الاطاحة بالحكومه. I cannot begin to imagine what this must be like. لا استطيع ابدا ان نتصور ما يجب ان يكون مثل هذا. We are praying for these people and for those who are called to help. نصلي من اجل هؤلاء الناس وبالنسبة لاولئك الذين هم من دعا الى مساعدة. Steve Kirk ستيف كيرك

I’ll tell you what, that was just horrible and sickening. أنا اقول لكم ما ، كان الامر مجرد الرهيبه والامراض. To think that it killed 22,000 and 41,000 missing, likened to Katrina doesn’t really do it justice. لأنها تعتقد أن قتل 22000 و41000 المفقودين ، وتشبيه كاترينا لا حقا انها العدالة. At least LA seems to be rebounding, there’s no telling when a place like this will ever come back around if it ever will. على الاقل يبدو ان مدينة لوس انجلوس انتعاش ، وليس هناك قول عند مكان مثل هذا وسوف يعود من اي وقت مضى حول إذا كان سيكون من اي وقت مضى.

@steve-I cannot believe we have not gotten aid to these folks. @ ستيف - لا أصدق اننا لم بدأت هذه المساعدات الى الناس. They have been without drinking water since the 4th. وقد دون مياه صالحة للشرب منذ الرابعة. Soon disease will start and we will lose millions. يبدأ المرض في وقت قريب ونحن سوف تفقد الملايين. In the meanwhile, we do not help them because their government has not allowed us in? في غضون ذلك ، ونحن لا تساعدهم لان الحكومة لم تسمح لنا؟
@chris-Now they are saying that the death toll may be as high as 100,000. @ كريس - الآن انهم يقولون ان حصيله القتلى قد يصل الى 100000. I think the UN was able to get some relief workers in there today, but it is too little, too late. واعتقد ان الأمم المتحدة تمكنت من الحصول على بعض العاملين في مجال الاغاثه في ذلك اليوم ، إلا أنها قليلة جدا ومتاخره جدا.

Glad you highlighted it as many forget about the ongoing problems there. كنت سعيدا كما انها ابرزت ان ننسى العديد من المشاكل الجاريه هناك. There was a Burma exhibition at our Human/Animal Rights Day recently in Johannesburg where they had lots of excellent info and films on the problems in Burma. وكان هناك معرض فى بورما مواردنا البشريه / حقوق الحيوان في اليوم مؤخرا فى جوهانسبرغ حيث كانت قد وجد الكثير من الافلام الممتازة ومعلومات عن المشاكل في بورما. Hopefully they made the thousands of visitors more aware and raised tons of money. ونامل انهم قدموا الآلاف من الزوار أكثر وعيا وآثارها الف طن من المال.

Government there is the real problem. الحكومة هناك هي المشكلة الحقيقية. I cant figure out what kind of people can be sitting there and prevent help to enter their country. الشكل الاول الرطانه بها اي نوع من الناس يمكن أن يجلس هناك ويساعد على منع دخول بلدهم. Are they so paranoid that they think we will bring some kind of evil inside? هل هم حتى المذعور التي يرون انها سنقدم نوع من الشر في الداخل؟ Cant they see its just food and medicine? الرطانه نرى انها مجرد الغذاء والدواء؟ Its not surprising that people are dying there, thousands of them, in rebellions and uprisings. انه ليس من المستغرب ان يموت الناس هناك ، والآلاف منهم ، في التمردات والانتفاضات. The government they have now is something to fear. الحكومة أمامهم الآن هو شيء للخوف.
