No, I am not talking about Vice President Cheney declaring himself a national monument and President Bush placing a plaque on him. Tourists wanting to view the new monument were told by Tony Snow, Whitehouse spokesperson, that it would cost $75,000. This is bizarre and offensive to me. The administration is mocking the American people and our heritage.

I have something weirder than that:

Robber demands cash — but settles for a glass of wine and a group hug - International Herald Tribune

A man walked into a backyard dinner party in Washington DC and put a gun to the head of a 14-year old girl. He threatened to kill her if the people did not give him all their money. Some level-headed woman asked the robber to join them in a glass of wine. As the robber munched cheese and drank wine, he said that he had come to the wrong house. Then all the people gave the robber a group hug. The robber walked off with his wine.
