Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who died in service to our country. ذكرى اليوم هو يوم لتخليد ذكرى من ماتوا في هذه الخدمة الى بلدنا. Congress declared Memorial Day a national holiday in 1971, to be celebrated on the last Monday of May. واعلن المؤتمر يوم ذكرى عطلة وطنية فى عام 1971 ، الذي سيحتفل به يوم الاثنين الماضي على من ايار / مايو.
Originally know as Decoration Day, it is believed that Memorial day started in the United States after the Civil War to remember fallen Union soldiers. وكما نعرف اصلا الديكور اليوم ، ومن المعتقد ان يوم ذكرى بدأت في الولايات المتحدة بعد الحرب الاهليه ان نتذكر الاتحاد سقط الجنود. This might be true, because eight southern states hold a separate memorial day for fallen Confederate soldiers. هذا قد يكون صحيحا ، لأن ثماني ولايات الجنوب عقد منفصل ليوم ذكرى جنود سقطوا الحليف.
About 5,000 people attend the Memorial Day ceremony at the Arlington National Cemetery each year. نحو 5000 شخص في اليوم التذكاري لحضور حفل اقيم في مقبره ارلينغتون الوطنية في كل سنة. A small American flag is placed on each grave and the President lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. علم امريكى صغير يوضع على كل خطير والرئيس يضع اكليلا على قبر الجندي المجهول.
Ways You Might Celebrate Memorial Day: كنت قد طرق الاحتفال التذكاري اليوم :
- visit cemeteries and war memorials and place flags or flowers زيارة النصب التذكاريه والمقابر والحرب ومكان اعلام أو الزهور
- attend Memorial Day parades or your local VFW hall حضور يوم ذكرى الاستعراضات او المحلي الخاص بك قاعة vfw
- fly the US flag at half-staff until noon رفع العلم الامريكى فى نصف الموظفين حتى ظهر
- add the POW/MIA flag to your flagpole اضافة أسير / ميا العلم الى حسابك سارية العلم
- participate in المشاركة في National Moment of Remembrance لحظة وطنية للذكرى at 3 PM (local time) في 3 بعد الظهر (بالتوقيت المحلي)
- view the عرض National Memorial Day Concert الحفله يوم ذكرى وطنية

Thanks for the reminder of what Memorial Day is really about, and good ideas on ways to observe the holiday. شكرا للتذكرة يوم ذكرى ما هو في الواقع ، وافكار جيدة حول سبل للاحتفال بالعيد.
