The Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance, a nonprofit patient advocacy group, has a website at USAEyes.org. On this website is information about Lasik surgery and patient outcomes. Apparently 90 percent of patients who underwent Lasik surgery improved to 20/40 vision and 65 percent achieved 20/20 vision. On the other hand, 3 percent of patients had some sort of unresolved problem remaining six months after surgery, with 1/2 percent had lasting problems. Dry eye symptoms are the most often reported difficulty.

I have worn glasses all my life. when the surgical option came out in the 1970s, I thought about having my vision corrected. The expense more than anything stopped me from taking this step. Through the years I have contemplated life without glasses, but never took the step. After reading these results, I am thinking about having the procedure.

Have you had Lasik eye surgery? If so, what were your results? If you have questions, please visit USAEyes.org, sponsor of this post, for more information. Share your thoughts, please.
