Fredericksburg Lavender Trail : Farm to Table
May 19-June 30, 2007

Five lavender farms in the Fredericksburg area will be promoting the spring-summer lavender season this year with Farm to Table, a farm and food celebration. Local restaurants have developed lavender-flavored selections as menu items that will be carried throughout the mid-May through June lavender season.

The Farms

The first event of the season will be Becker Vineyards Lavender Festival, May 19-20. Becker Vineyards is a nationally recognized winery. Enjoy one of their award winning wines as you stroll through a three-acre field of lavender. Retail store open daily. Located three miles west of Stonewall off U.S. Hwy 290 on Jenschke Lane. Fredericksburg Lavender Farm is open most weekends during peak season. Antiques and lavender products available. The main field is on the NW corner of US 290 and Royal Oaks Loop, 1348 Royal Oaks Loop, Fredericksburg. (830) 997-4090. No website.

Hummingbird Farms welcomes visitors to watch the summer harvest, view the essential oil distillation process, or to enjoy picking their own fragrant bouquet from several varieties of lavender spread over six acres. Open on designated weekends in May and June. Located between Fredericksburg and Johnson City, at 9340 Hwy 290 West, Johnson City. (830) 868-7862

LLL Farms grows several different lavender varieties and has almost 7000 plants. Over 150 lavender products and over 10 varieties of lavender plants are sold. Antiques and collectibles also available. Open Thursday-Sunday. Three miles east of Fredericksburg on Hwy 290. (830) 456-6049.
