I was hoping to bring back some excellent photographs of the wildflowers around Smithville. I should have taken the pictures Friday, because it rained all day Saturday and Sunday. We spent lots of time inside, reading, sleeping, relaxing and watching movies.
There was a Junior Rodeo scheduled for Saturday in another part of the park, so Friday night they were discing the arena and setting up poles and barrels. Someone had a microphone and some tapes as old as I am. I am not kidding. When was the last time you heard Bad Company, Bachman-Turner-Overdrive or Steppenwolf?
On top of it all was this person with a smokers voice trying to sign along with the music. She would cackle like a crazy woman and then sing some of the words. Then she would stop and then sing again. AUGGGHHHHHH! There ought to be a law! I was so glad when it starting raining and she had to stop. I was sorry for the cowboys and cowgirls who did not get to rodeo on Saturday.
