Την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα ήμαστε στη λίμνη Conroe και έπειτα, στον τρόπο που το σπίτι, εμείς σταμάτησε σε Giddings για δύο ημέρες. Στις Δευτέρα, 12 Μαρτίου, εμείς σπίτι αγελών στο SAN Marcos.

Σε αυτό το ταξίδι σε και από τη λίμνη Conroe, είδαμε τις πρώτες ανθίσεις Bluebonnets και μερικών ινδικών βουρτσών χρωμάτων στο νομό της Ουάσιγκτον, FM 2679 κοντά σε FM 390 και το νοτιοανατολικό σημείο μερικών μιλι'ων Hill Chappell Sauney στο παρεκκλησι Rd. Στο νομό Bastrop στην εθνική οδό 290, προηγούμενη εθνική οδός 77, οι άκρες του δρόμου άρχιζαν να ανθίζουν με τα πινέλα Bluebonnets και Ινδών.

Οι βροχές των προηγούμενων λίγων ημερών θα βοηθήσουν την άνθιση των wildflowers αυτό το ελατήριο. Ακριβώς εγκαίρως για την ευχαρίστηση εξέτασής σας στα διάφορα φεστιβάλ τον Απρίλιο. 24th Annual Bluebonnet Festival (website) on Historic Square in Burnet, the Bluebonnet Capital of Texas. Activities include parades, air show, carnival, 200 vendors, steam train comes in from Austin, classic car show, live entertainment. Held annually, second weekend in April.

Bluebonnet Trails Festival (website) in downtown Ennis, the Bluebonnet City of Texas. The area around Ennis, the Texas Bluebonnet Trail, offers over 40 miles of mapped trails for viewing wildflowers. The festival features arts and crafts, food, children’s activity area, live music & a historic home tour on Saturday, bluebonnet souvenirs and much more. Held annually.

Annual Denton Redbud Festival (website) on the Courthouse lawn in downtown Denton, the Redbud Capital of Texas. Activities include: 5K run, 1K walk, home and garden show, booths, educational programs, lectures, exhibits and demonstrations throughout the day.

Bluebonnet Festival of Texas (website) in Chappell Hill. This is one of the most popular bluebonnet festivals and is in the middle of the area for prime bluebonnet viewing, like a few miles southeast of Chappell Hill on Sauney Chapel Rd. For more information, call 979-836-6033.

April 15-May 31, 2007
East Texas Wildflower Trails (website) in Henderson. Three driving tours showcase the best spots for viewing wildflowers, historic sites, museums, dining, and shopping. Special events are scheduled for each weekend, including an antique tractor show, flea markets, and equine events. For more information, call 866-650-5529.

April 27-29, 2007
Wildflower Trails of Texas (website) around Avinger, Linden and Hughes Springs. Parades, street dances, art, craft and food vendors. Check the website for details on festivities in each city. Visitors can cruise the Highways 49, 8, and 11 which form the triangle around which the Trails revolve. Held annually, last weekend in April.
